Inverter or inverter
enables a smooth change of the rotational speed of the motor driving the
compressor of the air conditioner. Most air conditioners are equipped with a
control system that allows automatic keeping of the selected temperature in the
room.
In simple air
conditioners (without inverter), indoor temperature change is achieved by
changing the airflow intensity - the higher the cooling power is needed, the
faster the fan rotates. After
reaching the desired temperature, the speed decreases and the air conditioner
generates less power. Its
compressor, however, works with constant capacity periodically by turning it on
and off.
The use of the inverter
enables the compressor capacity to be adjusted to the instantaneous demand for
cooling power (or heating if the air conditioner is operating in heating mode). As a result, the air conditioner
consumes much less electricity, works quieter, extends the life of its
compressor, it is possible to use longer cables connecting the evaporator with
the condenser, and the temperature control in the room is more precise. If we can choose an air conditioner
with or without an inverter, choose the first, even if it is clearly more
expensive, because the operating costs can be lower by up to half.
