They are used for
closing garages, workshop and industrial buildings and warehouses. The door leaf is most often a plate
construction, the frame is made of galvanized steel sections. From the outside, the gates are clad
with sheet steel or aluminum profiled, anti-corrosive, steel panels, or solid
wood elements. Insulated gates
have an additional insulating insert made of expanded polystyrene or
polyurethane.

We distinguish the
gates:
reversible double leaf,
tiltable (with ceiling
guides or equipped with a spring mechanism),
Segmented (top or side
sections consisting of several connected segments that, after opening and
closing, slide along guides),
The upper or side
accordion consists of several segments connected by hinges, they form a
harmonica at the top or side edge.
Hinged doors are
characterized by a simple construction, easy assembly and a low price. The disadvantage is the need to leave
space between her and the garage in front of the garage so that it can be
lifted. The tilting gate consists
of a frame mounted in the garage wall, guides placed under the ceiling and a
movable sash, made of a steel frame reinforced with horizontal metal battens. The door leaf can be covered with
profiled sheet steel or wood. Some
manufacturers offer gates without a cover, with only holes drilled in the frame
to fix the selected material. If
the garage is heated, we can order an insulated gate. The thermal insulation layer is made
of polystyrene or polyurethane foam, and the cover on the garage side is made
of plastic or sheet metal.Manufacturers also offer swing gates with mounted
skylights, made of acrylic or impact-resistant polycarbonate.
Folding doors are the
most convenient to use and do not require leaving space in front of the garage. They are more expensive than hinges,
because their installation requires the use of an electric drive - manual
opening is possible only in the event of a breakdown or power outage. The gate consists of narrow aluminum
or steel double-wall profiles; when
opening, they are wound on the axle located in the box located in the garage
lintel.
Sectional doors, called
sectional ones, are well suited for short climbs and in garages going directly
to the street. They are offered
in two variants: open sideways and up. The
skeleton of each segment is a steel frame, while the filling is made of sheet
metal or wood. Manufacturers also
offer insulated gates. Side
sectional doors can be used in garages with arch-shaped openings, with gates
led on a curve or in the case of entering from a corner. However, sectional gates that open up
are more popular. The segments
are joined together by means of hinges; they
have two pairs of rollers, thanks to which the gate is accurately and quietly
guided on rails placed in the frame of the door frame and under the ceiling of
the garage. Sectional doors, as
well as tilting doors, can also be ordered in a version with skylights.
Electric drive is a
great convenience, so it is worth foreseeing the possibility of mounting it in
the future (if you can not afford it at the time of purchase) and leave a
garage space under the ceiling of the garage. The
gate with electric drive moves smoothly and quietly. It can be opened and closed using the
remote control.
