What to get warm in winter chill - fan heaters, electric and oil radiators

When the outside is prevailing in the cold, the heating installation is not always effective, especially if the house is inadequately insulated. Then they come to us with the help of portable heating prejudices, such as fan heaters, oil heaters, stoves or ga brown

The advantage of portable heating devices is that we can heat up various rooms if necessary - they are relatively light, and those with a greater weight are equipped with practical wheels that facilitate moving the device to any place.

The fans

These are the most popular and cheapest portable heating devices. You can buy them for around PLN 30. Fan heaters, commonly called also farelkami, are powered by electricity and work with power of about 2000 W. They heat the interior, in which they are set by blowing a warm air. They are recommended for heating not very large rooms. The source of heat of the fan heater is a spiral electric heater, on which the air in the fan heater fills. The device power and the temperature of the incoming air can be smoothly controlled, adapting them to current needs. Thanks to the small dimensions and weight, the fan heater can be easily moved to another location and heated to a selected room, such as a bathroom before a bath. Fan heaters are safe to use, because they are protected against overheating by special protection devices, which automatically switch off the heating function as required. Farelki do not work completely quiet - they produce a sound similar to hair dryers while heating. We can use the fan heater not only in winter, but also in the summer - they can then be used as an ordinary windmill.

Oil and electric radiators

The oil heaters work with a bit more power, amounting to 2500-3000 W. They are usually free-standing ribbed radiators, which are equipped with legs or wheels, so that they can easily move them to a different place. Oil radiators heat up relatively slowly, but also give away heat to the environment for some time after they are turned off. Such portable heating devices are supplied with electricity, and heat is obtained by heating the heat accumulated in the radiator oil. Their advantage is that by emitting heat to the environment they do not dry the air in the room. Efficient oil radiators can heat quite large surfaces, such as a 30-meter living room.

Gas stoves

The group of portable heating devices also includes popular gas stoves. You can choose from among the devices for blue water, with a ceramic burner or with a catalyst. In the case of gas stoves for over-heating, heating takes place by burning gas in a steel burner. These devices give off heat through radiation and convection. It works well for heating not very large rooms.Burners with a ceramic burner operate on a similar principle to those of the blue, except that the steel burner has been replaced with a ceramic one. The advantage of such portable heating devices is the longer heat retention time. Both devices can be accompanied by an irritating gas smell. This problem was eliminated by creating gas stoves with a catalyst. The exhaust gases produced by them are cleaned, thanks to which the smell of gas is virtually undetectable. In such stoves, the heating element is a ceramic fiber board - heat is generated on its entire surface.
