How to finish the floor in the garage?

The floor in the garage is exposed to exceptional load and dirt. In addition, it must withstand low temperatures and moisture. Therefore, the most important is its functionality and durability. We have several solutions to choose from.

When finishing the garage, it is important what materials we want to use on the floor. They must be durable and non-slip. It's good that they are also resistant to damage, scrubbing and abrasion as they will be intensively exploited.

Concrete floor in the garage

The easiest way to finish the garage floor is to use reinforced concrete. The screed creates a solid, resistant to mechanical damage. It will not be slippery and will withstand any load. It is good to install in it a drain with a grate and properly shape it so that you can easily wash the floor using a pressure washer. We will also be able to wash the car in this way even in winter. If we want to improve the aesthetic qualities of concrete, we can change its natural, gray color. The paint intended for this type of floor will help us in this.

Industrial floor

An excellent solution for a garage floor is the use of an industrial floor made of resins. It is made in layers, by pouring the mixture on a concrete foundation. Epoxy resins form a jointless, smooth and very hard floor. The screed gives layers extremely resistant to mechanical damage, abrasion and chemical substances. For this is flexible, suppresses impact and noise. Added particles or top layer of the appropriate paint, create a non-slip floor. The resin floor is very easy to clean. It can have any color. There is also the possibility of changing the color by painting.

Gres tiles for the garage

The most impressive look will be the garage floor lined with aesthetic tiles. Gres will be the best for this purpose. Its properties allow it to be used in places extremely exposed to heavy use and low temperatures. This is a proven cladding material, also intended for the garage. Its low absorbability causes it to be frost-proof. It also has increased abrasion resistance. It's not difficult to keep the stoneware floor clean. Pitting spots may be a problem, as dirt is most often deposited there. However, when using an epoxy grout, resistant to permanent dirt, cleaning will be much simpler. The whole floor can be additionally impregnated with a special preparation for gres. Thanks to this, we will create an insulating coating that protects against permanent dirt and discoloration. A floor in a garage composed of tiles will undoubtedly be more elegant and aesthetic than raw or industrial. The floor can also take on a more modern look. This will happen when we choose a cladding in the form of large format tiles.
