When
deciding on single-layer walls, special attention should be paid to the topic
of material selection for the wall. It
must be not only durable, but also warm, because the external walls will not be
protected against external heat escape by additional insulation material in
this case
Single-layer
walls can be as warm as two-layer partitions. It
is enough to choose the right material for their construction.Outdoor walls
erected from aerated autoclaved concrete and hollow bricks are now very
popular.
Single-layer
walls made of cellular concrete
Cellular
concrete is a material characterized by good thermal insulation, which it owes
to, among others its
porous structure. On
sale you can find blocks of cellular concrete, enabling the construction of
single-layer external walls even with a heat transfer coefficient U of less
than 0.2 W / (m² · K). It
is assumed that such a low coefficient is characterized by energy-saving walls. The
cellular concrete blocks are produced in various varieties, characterized by
different bulk densities. The
smaller the density of the blocks, the better it insulates thermally, while its
durability decreases.
Warm
external walls of hollow bricks
Good
thermal insulation of single-layer external walls can also be obtained by
erecting them from warm hollow bricks. When
burning this material in its structure, there are pores filled with air, which
significantly improve the thermal insulation properties of the blocks. Choosing
the right blocks for a single-layer wall it is worth paying attention to the
number and arrangement of the gaps. The
more holes there are in the cavities, the better. In
order to obtain the best thermal parameters of a single-layer wall from hollow
bricks, they should be bricked in such a way that their longitudinal slots are
parallel to the face of the wall.
