No energy loss. Energy-efficient garage doors and Hörmann entrance doors

The widespread desire to reduce energy costs incurred while using the home and the ecological aspects of effective energy management make investors look closely at any innovations that increase the thermal insulation of the building. That's why Hörmann offers new solutions that improve the thermal insulation of garage doors and gates.

The widespread desire to reduce energy costs incurred while using the home and the ecological aspects of effective energy management make investors look closely at any innovations that increase the thermal insulation of the building. That's why Hörmann offers new solutions that improve the thermal insulation of garage doors and gates.

Warmth at home and in the garage

If the garage is located in a block of a building, the heat from the adjacent heated rooms penetrates into the garage, and then outside. Experts emphasize that such a house should have a garage equipped with a sectional door built of steel segments with a thickness of not less than 42 mm . The gate must be filled with polyurethane foam with very high thermal insulation properties. It is important that the foam tightly fills all the corners of the table. The connections between the door segments and between the segments and the frame are also important. Attention should be paid to permanently flexible and weather-resistant gaskets, placed on all the edges of the door and on the widest possible contact edges between the segments. The thermal insulation coefficient U for a mounted gate with an area of 10 m2 should not exceed 1.3 W / sq m.

All these conditions are met by Hörmann LPU 40 sectional doors.

With the TermoFrame door frame - even warmer

The energy efficiency of the garage door depends also on the way of assembly. The latest, constructed by Hörmann, a system that further reduces thermal energy loss is the installation of the ThermoFrame frame using a thermal barrier between the frame and the building wall. This system additionally reduces thermal energy losses and improves the thermal insulation properties of LPU 40 garage doors.

The ThermoFrame door frame is separated from the building wall by a special thermal barrier, which makes the door construction elements not directly in contact with the wall.

In this way, thermal bridges are minimized, which are the cause of increased heat losses. The ThermoFrame frame is equipped with a durable frame

plastic and additional "lips" sealing, in contact with the door leaf on three edges - on the sides and in the upper part. The LPU 40 gate, whose heat transfer coefficient is still low (for the door panel is 0.9 W / m2K), with such a door frame significantly increases its thermal insulation properties - up to 15 percent!

Warm and safe exterior doors

Lower heating bills will also be provided by Hörmann's ThermoPro, ThermoPro Plus and TopPrestigePlus exterior doors. This is a proposal for those who, when focusing on energy efficiency, do not want to give up either burglary protection or the attractiveness of the aesthetic door that they treat as a home business card.

The steel door leaves ThermoPro and Thermo Pro Plus are equipped with a thermal break. In addition, door panels with a thickness of 46 mm and 65 mm on the entire surface are filled with polyurethane foam. Heat losses are eliminated by: four-sided door rebate, double gaskets on all edges of the board and additional sealing of the corners in the threshold area. The thermal insulation is also increased by the aluminum door frames equipped with a thermal barrier. Thermal insulation coefficient is even 0.8 W / m2K (in doors without glazing). Excellent thermal insulation in glazed doors is provided by triple or double insulation glass.

The standard 11-point protection guarantees excellent burglar protection. It is also possible to order ThermoPro and ThermoPro Plus doors in the anti- burglary version, in class 2 according to PN - ENV 1627. Additionally, you can order side and top fanlights with very good thermal insulation.

ThermoPro and ThermoPro Plus doors are offered in a wide range of designs, both modern and classic and in 11 RAL colors, and some designs in wood-like veneer in Golden Oak, Dark Oak and Night Oak and in Titan Metalic.

A variety of attractive designs with very good thermal insulation and anti-burglary safeguards also combine the TopPrestigePlus door.

These doors have a system of aluminum profiles with a thickness of 80 mm with a thermal break, and their wing with a thickness of 70 mm is made of three layers of aluminum sheet and two layers of polyurethane foam. As a result, the U heat transfer coefficient in doors without glazing can be as high as 1.1 W / m2K. In doors with glazing, heat losses are minimized by triple thermal insulation glazing. The Top PrestigePlus door , like the ThermoPro door, can be ordered in the anti-burglary version in class 2 according to PN-EN 1627.

Both ThermoPro and TopPrestigePlus are the best example of how modern external doors can successfully combine excellent thermal insulation with anti-burglary and interesting design.
