Heat pumps are heating
devices that have their supporters and opponents. Is it worth investing in such a
device?
Heat pumps used in
single-family houses are electrically driven, and this is expensive for us, but
the heat they provide to the heating system is taken from the environment -
usually soil or air, or from water tanks. As
a result, they draw several times less electricity than electric heaters, which
is why heat pump operation is very cheap.
Cheap heating with a
heat pump
The easiest heat to
install an air-heat pump costs about the same as the natural gas boiler, and
the ground - a coal or wood boiler. However,
it must be taken into account that the costs of heating a heat pump depend on
the conditions in which the heat pump operates (on the temperature of the
medium from which it receives heat) and can vary quite significantly depending
on how it is around our home. Undoubtedly,
heating with a heat pump in all conditions is much cheaper than electric
heaters, a liquid gas boiler (propane) or fuel oil.
Why is it worth heating
a house with a heat pump?
Although the purchase
and installation of a heat pump must be allocated an amount even by tens of
thousands of zlotys than a gas or oil boiler, but thanks to the fact that the
heat pump operation is cheaper by at least half, the initial expense is able to
compensate for lower heating bills. After
a few years, the sums of expenditures for the purchase and operation of the
heat pump equate with those that absorb the boiler, and then the operation of
the heat pump gives already considerable savings and ensures cheap heating of
the house.
Purchasing a heat pump
is also profitable because the use of it is quite easy - it works fully
automatically. It does not
require servicing, there is no need to remember about fuel for it, it does not
produce fumes, and thus also problems with the chimney and ventilation.
