Garage door - tilting or sectional?

All garage owners face this choice. Choosing the right garage door is not always easy. What should you remember when deciding on a hinged gate, and what about - choosing a sectional door?

Will it fit?

The narrowest garage doors have a width of 2.3 m , but a comfortable, trouble-free entry to the garage will provide us with a wider gate, for example with a width of 2.5-2.7 m . In order to be able to mount the hinged gate, we need to find some places in the driveway to the opening gate wings. If the driveway is short, there may be a problem with it.

Sectional door opening does not need space in the driveway. This is guaranteed by the sectional structure of the sash, thanks to which it can bend during opening and closing.

Arguments for choosing a revolving gate

• Hinged doors are cheaper than segmented ones;

• Simple design guarantees their reliability;

• Tilting gates can be found on the market, which can be insulated in a simple way if necessary.

• These gates are manufactured in many colors, without any problems they can be selected, for example, to the color of the façade.

• Hinged doors can be mounted in the light of the opening (facing the garage walls).

Advantages of sectional doors

• Does not need space on the vehicle, so it can be installed in garages, which are located directly on the street;

• The choice of designs and finishes for sectional doors is very large;

• Good thermal and acoustic insulation (gate segments are filled with polyurethane foam, they are suitable for heated garages;

• Such a gate will work in every garage, the shape of the hole has no meaning in this case - it can even be rounded.
