Clinker pavement is a
proven material used as a pavement for sidewalks, driveways, streets or garden
paths, and even terraces. It is durable, abrasion resistant and ecological. The clinker pavement has a
considerable advantage over the concrete block - also in other respects
Clinker pavement is a
ceramic material, fired from clay and sand at a very high temperature. It fits very well with stone and wood,
it is also a good complement to clinker elements on the facade of the house.
Paving stones from
clinker - color durability and high abrasion resistance
Compared to concrete,
the clinker pavement is a fade resistant material. This happens, among others because the color of the pavement is
natural, resulting from the burning of various clays. To get it you do not need any dyes. The clinker pavement is also
distinguished by its high abrasion resistance, which is of considerable
importance in the case of road surfaces in driveways or alleys. Unlike concrete pavement, it maintains
its impeccable appearance for many years.
Clinker pavement
resistant to compression and slip resistant
When choosing a
permanent surface for the property, it is also worth paying attention to the
compressive strength of the material. Clinker
pavement works well in this matter as well. It
is estimated that a 45 mm thick clinker cube is four times better in this respect
than a 80 mm thick concrete pavement . In
addition, due to the use of clinker pavement, its surface is not polished -
this material is therefore safe due to the lack of slip, both in dry and wet
conditions.
Laying of clinker
pavement
The clinker pavement is
relatively fast - it does not require screed or insulation. Paving stones are laid loosely on
gravel ballast or coarse rinsed sand. They
are not permanently connected to the ground.
When laying pavement
from clinker, attention should be paid to maintaining the same width of gaps
between the cubes. It should be
3- 5 mm . It
is recommended to fill the gaps between the coarse sand paving already while
laying the clinker pavement - this will avoid shifting of the pavement
elements. After coarse sanding
into coarse fissures, the joints should be sanded using a water hose and
brushes. The clinker surface
prepared in this way is compacted with a compactor with a rubber or neoprene
protection plate, moving it from the edge of the pavement to its center.
