Choosing the right
battery is of great importance during its subsequent use and should be done
before buying a washbasin. If we choose a headboard battery, the sink should
have a special hole to allow direct installation of this type of battery.
Front panel battery
Front-mounted faucets
(or standing ones) mounted on the edge of the basin owe their popularity to the
ease of assembly and location correction without the need to forge walls. They
are connected with the water system most often with flexible hoses. Installation
must be close to the place where the batteries are installed, but it is not
necessary to accurately place the pipes before finishing the walls and glazing.
Single-lever or
two-handle basin mixer
Front-mounted batteries
can be single or double- handle. As
the name suggests, they differ in the number of handles. Most often we choose
single-lever mixers (also called mixers). They are easier and more convenient
in everyday use. A single handle allows you to efficiently adjust both the
water flow and its temperature - raising it up, start the flow of water and
increase its flow, and turning it to the left or right, change the temperature
of the water. Single-lever mixers are economical from two-handle, because they
allow you to significantly save water.
Two-handle batteries -
two taps for cold and hot water - used to be commonly used on the market are
also available on the market. Today, brass handles and screed can most often be
found in retro style bathroom bathrooms. Although the quality of two-handle
batteries has increased, their use is not conducive to saving water. Every time
we unscrew the taps, we have to regulate the water temperature - before it sets
its temperature, we have to wait. This is hampered by differences in water
pressure and temperature in both lines. Turning the tap also takes a moment. The
ease introduced by the manufacturers is to limit the rotation range of the knob
to 270 ° or even 180 °, so that we can get the desired water jet faster.
Non-touch and touch
batteries
We usually meet them in
public toilets of some institutions, restaurants or offices, but more and more
often purchased for private use. To run them, just touch the battery lightly or
put your hand under the tap. There are also single-hole button-type faucets
with mixer and knob for setting the water. All types of batteries are usually
self-closing - they switch off after a certain time (for example after 20
seconds), after taking your hands or after using a fixed amount of water. Such
batteries must be connected to a power source or powered by special batteries.
Basin mixer: which head?
When buying a battery,
whether one or two-handle, pay attention to the battery head. It mixes cold and
warm water, which is why it is often exposed to failures. Brass slider heads
are rare today. They have been replaced by ceramic sliding heads, which
facilitate quick setting of the temperature and strength of the water stream,
allowing for more economical management. As a rule, they are equipped with a
filter that protects against rust and sand. Manufacturers provide a 5-year
warranty on the leakproofness of ceramic heads.
One, two, three holes .
. .
Instead of a traditional
one-hole mixer for the sink, we can choose a two- or three-hole one.
One-hole, one-arm and
two-handle batteries take up little space, so they are willingly and often
bought. Manufacturers outdo each other in original battery designs, most of
which are just one-hole.
Two-hole batteries -
they are also available in one and two-handle versions, but rarely used.
Three-hole batteries -
are usually maintained in a
modern style, although you can buy stylized for the 1920s. They have two knobs
and a spout.
Additives for washbasin
taps
Batteries can be
attractive not only thanks to aesthetically looking, but also thanks to
well-chosen accessories.
The thermostat allows
for significant water saving - the control system "makes sure" that
the outgoing water does not exceed the temperature set on the knob. Knob
temperature has additional interlock against its inadvertently increase above 38 ° C . As a result, batteries are safe for
children who use them. For the same purpose, you can also purchase a
thermostatic mixer with a built-in ecigarette and a lock that controls the
amount of water flowing out.
Aerator is a system of
very strongly aerating sieves flowing out of the water. Thanks to the fact that
the bubbles increase its volume, the stream does not change and we have the
impression that a lot of water flows.
The automatic plug works
in such a way that on the back of the battery there is a lever, which lifting
causes blockage of the outflow.
Two-stage handle lever -
the handle can be lifted vertically in two steps, separated by a point of
resistance, thanks to which we will not be able to unscrew the full stream.
Resistance limiter for
water temperature - the required temperature is set when the battery is
installed. To obtain warmer water, you need to overcome the light resistance of
the limiter.
Quick Stop - a certain
amount of water will flow out when you press a button from the battery.
A convenient gadget of
basin faucets is also a pull-out spout and a bidet, and thus a shower hose
ended with a small shower head. Also an elongated handle that can be actuated
with the elbow when your hands are very dirty is a great option.
