Facade TO-DECOR decorative system

The building's body should be insulated from the foundation (basically from a footing or foundation slab) to the roof. The principle in theory is simple, and in fact ...? Not all parts of the building that are easy to draw during design can be easily and easily completed. With the help of the contractor, the suppliers of thermal insulation systems and supplementary components come to the market, supplying more and more accessories to facilitate the execution of complex fragments.

1. Application

The Termo Organika® TO-DECOR façade decorative system is an extension of the Termo Organika® thermal insulation system (ETICS) with decorative panels imitating natural wood, which are installed as a surface layer instead of thin-layer plasters. The panels can also be used on other supporting mineral and non-mineral substrates.

2. Formal requirements

Thermal insulation system Termo Organika® TO-DECOR can be used in accordance with Polish building regulations. The system has the European Technical Assessment No. ETA-16/0869: "Termo Organika® TO-DECOR", conformity certificate of Factory Production Control No. 1407-CPR-042-09, declaration of performance No. 508-DoP-171002 and NRO classification in the scope of the degree spreading fire through the walls.

5. Components of the facade decorative system

1) Universal glue, white Termo Organika® TO-KUB (cement) for gluing panels,

2) Termo Organika® TO-DECOR panels (factory hydrophobized)

3) Acrylic Termo Organika® TO-LA

6. Transport and storage

Parcels with panels should be transported and stored in original packaging. Store on an even surface "lying down" (arrow pointing up). Individual packages should be carried in 2 persons (with an arrow pointing upwards) spreading the weight evenly.Do not allow packaging to bend.

7. Attention!

The system is available on individual order. Details from Regional Technical and Commercial Directors of Termo Organika.

8. Installation

A. Preparation of the substrate

Each substrate must be compact, even, load-bearing, dry, clean and without adhesion-reducing layers (grease, dust, etc.).Remove old, "loose" plasters, peeling paint and other dirt. Small unevenness and defects can be repaired with TO-KU adhesive. Repairs to the substrate should be completed at the latest one day before the panels are glued. Absorbent substrates (eg aerated concrete) should be primed with TO-GU universal soil, smooth and / or non-absorbent substrates (eg concrete, reinforced concrete) with TO-GS tacking soil. Bonding panels on new cement or cement-lime substrates can be done after they have dried completely, but not earlier than after 28 days. Bonding panels on the reinforced layer in thermal insulation systems can be performed after it has dried, not earlier than after 1 day.

B. Preliminary work

It is recommended that the TO-DECOR panels be installed in a minimum of 2 people. Mounting should start from the bottom of the wall. On the prepared surface, draw a straight line using a spirit level. Then fasten the starter strip (for this purpose you can use a wooden, aluminum or PVC slat), which supports the first row of panels. After the assembly, remove the strip.

C. Cutting straight and cutting the corner of the TO-DECOR cladding

1) For cutting, use electric tools for tile, stone: diamond discs, miter saws, table saws.

2) After cutting the liner to the desired size, sand the edge with sandpaper.

3) For making corners, cut the tile at an angle of 45 °.

D. Preparation of the adhesive and its application to the surface

For bonding TO-DECOR claddings, use the universal white adhesive Termo Organika® TO-KUB. Pour the contents of the bag into the container containing the recommended amount of water and mix for 3-5 minutes with a low-speed electric stirrer until homogeneous. Set the glue away for about 2-3 minutes and mix again. The mortar is suitable for mixing in concrete mixers. In this case, the mixing time should be extended to approx. 10 minutes. The consistency of the material can be adjusted by adding water, but in an amount not exceeding the upper limit.

Prepare portions of mortar that will be used within approx. 2 hours. The mortar thickened at this time should be mixed without adding water.

E. Installation of the TO-DECOR cladding

The toothed side of the float ( 4 mm ) creates a gluing surface. Apply, align and press the TO-DECOR panel to the surface.Correct its position if necessary. In order to obtain the effect of natural formwork, assembly of the next rows should be performed on the so-called a passing beam (brick), controlling the leveling of the claddings.

F. Treatment of edges, corners and vertical joints

After sticking the TO-DECOR panel, the upper, horizontal edge should be carefully protected against water penetration. For this purpose, for example, a spatula can be used. Similarly, make vertical joints and corners, applying additional adhesive at the contact points.

In places of joining the claddings, the excess squeezed glue should be removed and the surface should be smoothed with a wet brush or sponge.

Similarly, protect the side edges by applying glue and leveling the surfaces. Pay special attention to the last, top layer of the panels and properly protect it against water penetration.

G. Protection and painting of the mounted TO-DECOR cladding

After initial drying of the adhesive, which may last from 4 to 8 hours depending on the ambient temperature, you can start painting with Termo Organika® TO-LA. Linings can also be painted with silicone or acrylic facade paints, eg TO-FSG, TO-FSS, TO-FSA, TO-FA. TO-DECOR linings are factory pre-protected with a hydrophobizing agent.

H. The effect of "old wood"

After the first layer of color has dried, apply a second layer of the same color. Immediately after applying "wet", wipe the painted surfaces with a trowel with a rubber sponge. Remove the glaze from the float and continue to rub. In places of depressions, a greater amount of azure will remain, creating a unique effect of antiqued wood.
